Former teachers. Current parents. On your side.
Carr Education Allies was created to guide and support parents through the special education process — because we needed that guidance ourselves.
Stephanie Carr
Stephanie has over 10 years of classroom experience, teaching general education and co-taught classes in Baltimore City and Anne Arundel County. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism, a certification in Secondary Education–Social Studies, and a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
Stephanie is a certified Dyslexia Advocate through the Dyslexia Training Institute, a founding member of Decoding Dyslexia–Howard County, and has served on the Howard County SECAC board for several years.
For the last 15 years she has been raising three children, all with various disabilities. She has been the parent in the meeting — and she knows what it costs to leave one unheard.

Andrea Jones
Andrea also spent many years in secondary education, holding a bachelor’s degree in secondary education, psychology and teaching reading. She taught in Baltimore County and at the Kennedy Krieger Upper School.
Andrea left the classroom to raise her three children, and kept working in education the whole time — tutoring children with learning disabilities, and teaching GED and ESL classes at Anne Arundel Community College.
Her degree in psychology and reading means she reads assessments the way the school does, so nothing in the paperwork gets past her.

We have been on your side of the table
Between us we have taught in four Maryland school systems, raised six children, and sat in the meetings where a child’s next year gets decided. We started this business because too many parents leave those meetings confused and dismissed. You should not have to.
